5S training and competition
October 27, 2016
5S is the name of a workplace organization method that focuses on principles around five Japanese words: seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke. They are translated from Japanese as "sort", "set in order", "shine", "standardize", and "sustain".
Crown Logistics values the quality of warehouse management and adopted this innovative style in 2014. In order to aid in the implementation a series of training, lectures and posters were provided. Following, an internal 5s “competition” was held across the organization. Teams and winners were honored, where they shared experiences and best practices on how to apply 5S principles in daily operations. To renew enthusiasm another competition has been announced and will commence in the coming months.
