James Thompson, III (Jimmy), holds a Bachelor's degree for a double major in Asian Studies and Chinese History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He began his career in 1997, in Shanghai, China, where he worked as sales manager for U.S. freight forwarder, MSL Express Inc., in its Shanghai office. After two years in that position, he joined Crown's Shanghai branch and attended Crown University, in Zandvoort, Holland—successfully graduating in 1999. He is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Jimmy has worked for Crown for the past 10 years. He began as sales manager, China for the logistics divisions in Shanghai and Shenzhen, and then worked his way to branch manager positions in Tianjin (2000) and Beijing (2001). He is currently the regional manager for North China & Mongolia, and oversees all of Crown's business units. Since 2004 he has been handling the additional duties of regional manager, Greater China for the logistics division which increased his management responsibilities to include Crown China's and Crown Houston's (Texas, USA) operations.

Jimmy's years of experience in the industry involves managing various projects, including offshore and onshore oil and gas contracts for a number of multinational clients. He, his wife and daughter make their home in Beijing.
